If the UV-C LED is defective, the water station will stop dispensing water.

Yes, the effectiveness of the UV-C LED decreases with increasing service life. However, with the recommended service life of 5 years,
the claimed effectiveness is guaranteed.

The UV-C LED is fully effective for 650 operating hours. It is therefore designed for an average usage period of a 4-person household,
where the device is used 8 times a day and the UV-C LED is in operation for 30 seconds each time. With a service life of 5 years, this results
in a service life of 487 hours, which is less than the operating time of 650 hours.

The bacteria reduction test was carried out with E. coli bacteria at the TÜV SÜD China. As no bacteria other than E. coli bacteria were tested, we are unfortunately unable to provide any information on this.

The service life of the cartridge is calculated based on both time and volume of filtered water. When either the defined time or the defined volume is reached, the appliance will remind you to replace the cartridge. Time tracking only occurs when the appliance is switched on; if it is turned off, time calculation pauses.

Both BRITA MAXTRA PRO PURE PERFORMANCE and MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT are compatible and can be used with the BRITA Cube. We recommend using MAXTRA PRO LIMESCALE EXPERT for a longer service life of the appliance thanks to optimum protection against limescale build-up.

The cartridge has a service life of 4 weeks or 150L. The appliance has a cartridge replacement reminder function on the control panel: after 21 days or 90L, cartridge exchange indicator will light up in red and after 28 days or 120L, it will flash in red to remind you to replace the cartridge.

Yes. Even if the level of the filtered water is above the cartridge, the cartridge will still work and filter the water.

Yes, it can be used without a cartridge. However, doing so will negatively affect the water quality and won't protect the appliance from limescale build-up, which can shorten its lifespan. We recommend always using the YOURCE cool with a BRITA cartridge and replacing it regularly.

For hygiene reasons, the cleaning indicator will always light up when the appliance is switched on again. Since the appliance has no battery, it can only track time while it’s powered on. If the appliance is turned off, time tracking stops. Once it’s switched back on, the countdown to the next cleaning resumes. As a result, the cleaning reminder may appear later, depending on how long the dispenser was switched off.
To ensure optimal performance of your BRITA water dispenser and its features—such as the filter exchange reminder and cleaning programs—it is recommended to keep the appliance switched on at all times. If you only wish to turn off the cooling system, there are two options:
1) Permanently switch off the cooling system for extended periods (e.g. during long holidays).
2) Set a timer to automatically switch off the cooling system overnight and turn it back on in the morning.

The automatic self-cleaning ensures the hygiene inside the device. It will be activated in 3 cases: 1) before the 1st use, 2) after 90 days, 3) after plugging off/switching off the device.
If the inner tube flushing symbol and the cold-water tank flushing symbol start flashing in red, press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds, to start the process. Inner tube cleaning (hot water circuit) will start first. When the inner tube cleaning process is completed, cold water tank flushing starts automatically.
Approx. 2,75 L of water is required for the whole cleaning process. To begin the cleaning, please make sure that the water tank contains enough water. Also, place a sufficient large container under the outlet to collect the water. If the water runs out during the cleaning process, the device will pause and prompt you to refill the water tank. Once the tank is refilled, the cleaning procedure will resume until it is fully completed.

Yes, it is possible to activate self-cleaning program manually if you haven't used the appliance for a long time or want to clean the appliance, but the last cleaning was less than 3 months ago.
To start the self-cleaning program manually, press and hold the temperature button "+" for 3 seconds and the cleaning indicator will light up. Now you can start the cleaning process by pressing and holding both cleaning indicators on the touchscreen for 3 seconds. The cleaning process starts automatically. Please note that approx. 2.75L of water is required for the entire cleaning process. Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank before you start the cleaning process and a sufficient large container to collect the water is placed under the outlet.

The automatic self-cleaning ensures the hygiene inside the device. It will be activated in 3 cases: 1) before the 1st use, 2) after 90 days, 3) after plugging off/switching off the device.If the device was switched or plugged off for a short period of time (<24 hours) e.g. for cleaning of the device or putting it in another place, the automatic self-cleaning can be skipped by simultaneously pressing the preset volume buttons „small cup“ and „large cup“ for 3 seconds. Caution: If the device was switched or plugged off for a longer period of time (>24 hours), BRITA strongly recommends to carry out the self-cleaning process as described in the user manual, section “8: Maintenance, Cleaning, Automatic self-cleaning” to ensure the hygiene inside the appliance.

This is for hygiene reasons. For example, the inner tube flushing indicator (related to the hot water pipe) will light up and start flashing if the dispenser hasn’t been used for 24 hours. In this case, the system will automatically set the temperature to 95°C and the volume to 350 ml, which will appear on the display. To flush the appliance, press and hold the inner tube flushing symbol for 3 seconds. One cup of hot water will be dispensed—please discard this water.
The cold water tank flushing indicator will light up and flash if no cold water has been dispensed for more than 7 days, or if the cooling system has been off for an extended period and is then turned back on. To flush, press and hold the cold water flushing symbol for 3 seconds. The required volume of water for flushing will be shown on the display. Make sure the water tank is filled and that a sufficiently large container is placed under the outlet. Once flushing is complete, the indicator will turn off automatically.

The cold water tank flushing indicator will flash if no cold water has been dispensed for more than 7 days. If you use the product daily, the indicator will appear only as a part of automatic self-cleaning process after 90 days of use or after the appliance was plugged off or switched off.
There is no possibility to skip the cold-water tank flushing process as it would have a negative impact on the hygiene inside the cold-water tank and taste of water.

Yes, this appliance uses a dual-tube system, meaning hot and cold water flows/curcuits are separated and can operate simultaneously without affecting each other. However, please note that both hot and cold water are dispensed through the same nozzle. If you switch from dispensing hot water to cold water immediately, the first 10–20 ml of cold water may be slightly warmer due to residual heat in the nozzle.

This waiting period allows the lubricating oil in the compressor to return to its proper position, as it may have shifted during transportation. Ensuring the oil is correctly settled helps protect the compressor and extend its lifespan.

The cooling system activates automatically when it detects that the temperature in the cold-water tank is higher than the preset level. If you dispense only a small amount of water (e.g., 150 ml), the temperature change is minimal after refilling with ambient water from the outside water tank, so the cooling system may not need to activate.

No, the temperature will remain consistent during dispensing. The machine is designed to delay refilling the cold water tank with ambient water until one minute after dispensing has stopped. This prevents ambient water from mixing with the cold water during dispensing, ensuring a steady temperature throughout.

The total capacity is 5,3 liters. The capacity of outside, removable water tank is 4 liters. The capacity of the funnel containing the cartridge is 1.5 liters. The capacity of cold- water tank is 1 liter.

The empty water tank indicator lights up when the water level is low. During this time, the appliance can continue to dispense water. Water dispensing will stop once the level drops to 100 ml to protect itself from dry burning. In this case please fill-up the water tank. The cold water can still be dispensed up to 1 liter.
Indicator starts flashing when the tank is removed or not installed correctly.

If the water tank indicator lights up, simply fill the water tank. As soon as the amount of water in the tank exceeds 250 ml again, the empty water tank indicator switches off automatically.

The nozzle tube is made of PP and has been tested according to the European and international standards for food-grade materials. The tube in the UV-C module is made of food-grade silicone. For hot pipeline, the tube after the UV-C module is made of silicone. For cold pipeline, the tube directly after the UV-C module is made of 304 stainless steel.

Please remember to turn on the switch on the backside of the dispenser after plugging in the device. Once the switch has been turned on all lights on the display will light up for 3 seconds. Now the dispenser will switch to standby mode and is ready to use after deactivating the child lock function.

If there is no operation within 1 minute, the child-lock icon will light up and the dispenser will be in standby mode. In this case, you only need to press the child lock for 2 seconds to unlock the appliance.

At the water outlet, the water reaches a temperature of 95 degrees; after dispensing, the water can cool down a few degrees on contact with the cooler air and cup. In general, the first 50 ml per day or after a longer period of non-use with hot water are also a few degrees cooler (especially in winter).
